an experiment

I am many things to many people however the role which I feel is at times the most important one of all is that of carrot cake connoisseur - yup that's me, I can't drive through a country town without checking out whats it's bakery has on offer and be sure I can direct you to all the best nearby offerings. 

And today I had a little experiment in making my own, you see the best of the best is not your typical type of carrot cake but more of a meringue like carrot cake with the cream cheese frosting in the middle and with a dusting of icing sugar on top. Unfortunately it seems that the recipe for this highly addictive cake is a closely guarded secret as I can't seem to find it anywhere which led to the need for experiment, and although it was rather dense, at places a little chewy and with plenty of room for development, it actually wasn't too bad. Together with a couple of coffees and two fabulous friends it indeed helped to make a perfect morning.

You know you can't complain when you can stop and capture a few quick images like this on your way to an evening shoot. I had visited this specific location earlier in the day and was back to assess the evening light when these grasses on the lake caught my eye.

It was the Emu Plains market again on Saturday and what a great day it was. Now when it comes to the location of ones stall many stallholders may prefer to be near the coffee, the food or near the entrance but in my mind I have hit the market stallholders real estate jackpot with a site right next to the children's play area. Complete with animal farm and face painting my little ones day was more than what she could have imagined!

I spotted these guys whilst picking up some bakery supplies this morning and couldn't help but to capture a pic or two - there is actually another in there but he was a bit camera shy.

I've resolved that in the New Year I am to have a camera on me at all times so as to be able to capture the little random things like this that make me smile.

so today the fabulous yet feisty five year old became the sassy yet sensational six year old and what better way to do it than with a teddy bears picnic @ Coolart - Happy Birthday Little Miss Woods xx
