Adding splashes of colour to our otherwise grey streetscapes right now are the delightful Kniphofia species, or as more commonly know, the Red Hot Pokers. Their tall sculptural heads can be seen poking over fences and emerging from tired and damp winter gardens, here to provide colour and warmth, and to make us smile.
